Racing Info:
David Forbis has been racing since 1992 and is the founding father
of the Southern Outlaw Wing 600's. When he and other 600cc drivers were looking for somewhere to race, they would call
the local tracks to see if they had room. It wasn't long before the tracks were calling them to plan a schedule.
In 1998 the Southern Outlaw Wing 600's had their first season as a traveling series with a point fund.
After several years as the Director of Competition and competing with SOW6,
David decided it was time to persue a dream. A personal goal of his was to own a 360 sprinter before he tuned 40.
Just a few weeks before that birthday he accomplished that goal. The next three years he traveled the highly competitive
American Sprint Car Series and finished in the Top 10 the first year. The next two years were plagued with several
tanked motors and trashed cars. This eventually led to venturing out to the series he's competing with now,
the Ark-La-Tex Wing Modifieds.
In 2007 David found victory lane... the first time in 10 years. It's
likely he would have found it more often last year if it wasn't for 6 tanked motors. This year he's sought the knowledge
and expertise of Dennis Well's to build DFR's bullet, tensuring the best possible race engine gets dropped in the car.
As usual, his brother Rick will be turning the wrenches on the #28 SHED wing modified.
